Evelyn (nee Mastey) Lubinski, 97, Seymour, passed away at home on February 17, 2021. She was born on April 16, 1923, daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes (Szymanski) Mastey, and was one of 13 children. She was a graduate of Pulaski High School, and later attended Stevens Point State Teachers College (now UW-Stevens Point). Evelyn taught grades 1-4 in one-room schools in Angelica and later in Krakow prior to marriage. She was united in marriage to Vernon Lubinski on November 16, 1946. They celebrated 66 years of marriage together. Vernon preceded Evelyn in death on June 18, 2013.
Evelyn was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church in Seymour. She also was a member of the Seymour Legion Auxiliary and Freedom VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her five children: Richard (Donna) Lubinski, Seymour; Jane (John) Clegg, Champaign, IL; Robert (Kathi) Lubinski, Seymour; Ann (Randy) Reed, Seymour; and Mary (Patrick) Klass, Seymour, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren: Lauren Lubinski, Allison (Eric) Mullen, Katelyn (Trent) Ziegler, Matthew (Julia) Clegg, Nicholas (Jessica) Clegg, Elizabeth Clegg, Ryan Lubinski, Lindsey (Matt) Schumacher, Michael (Ashley) Reed, Robert (Aimee) Reed, Thomas (Robin) Reed, Steven (Abby) Klass, and Joanna Klass; 15 great-grandchildren: Grace, Anna, and Eve Mullen; Oliver and Maxwell Ziegler; Nicolas and Francisco Clegg; Matthew, Blake, Eliana, Lucy, Evan, and Vaughn Reed; and Mason and Taylor Klass. Evelyn is further survived by two sisters: Verna Strupp, and Geraldine Kuklinski; and two brothers: Eugene and Leonard Mastey; one brother-in-law, Richard Cheke; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by eight siblings: John, Florian, Alvin, and Norbert Mastey; Florence Rawlsky, Isabelle Mastey, Rita Immel, and Lorraine Luebke.
Private family services will be held. Burial will take place in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Friends of the Muehl Public Library or Community 2000.
