Florella M. Stephan, 94, of Black Creek passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Appleton Health Care Center. She was born April 1, 1918 daughter of the late Arthur and Lillie (Daelke) Defferding. On Jan. 14, 1935 she was united in marriage to William Stephan in Spooner. He preceded her in death in March 1983.
Florella was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Black Creek. She was involved in Senior Citizens of Black Creek, Black Creek Homemakers and was a volunteer at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour for many years. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family and friends.
Survivors include her children: Deloris Chizek, Black Creek; Thomas (Pat) Stephan, Arizona; son-in-law Robert Schmidt, Appleton; 20 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers: Roy Geiger, Appleton; Elmer (Bev) Geiger, Appleton; sister Betty Young, Clintonville; sisters-in-law: Amy Geiger and Connie Geiger
Preceded in death by 2 daughters Carol and Lorraine; 2 sons: Billy (Shirley) and Donald (Betsy); 2 brothers: Kenneth and Eugene; sister Shirley (Carl) Treichel; granddaughter, Rose; 2 great grandsons Lucas and Zachary; son-in-law Edward Chizek; brother-in-law Vernon Young
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 4-8 PM and Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 101 S. Clark St., Black Creek from 9:30 AM until services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gail Irwin officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Online condolences may be expressed at
