Frances Samson

Frances Mary Nevitt Samson, age 84, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2013. She was born June 5, 1929 in Peoria, IL, daughter of Thomas and Theresa (Cullen) Nevitt, who preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to Leon Brandow Samson of Seymour on December 22, 1946 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1998.

She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. Frances was a devoted wife and loving mother as well as the secretary/bookkeeper for her husband's business, Leon Samson Excavating.

Over the years she enjoyed her involvement in Homemakers, Ladies Aid, Concordia Society, Special Olympics, Wednesday morning ladies bowling and family reunions.

Survivors are her children: Ray (Lorraine) Samson, Seymour; Bob (Linda) Samson, Neenah; Rick Samson, Green Bay; Nancy (Jim) Niespodzany, Seymour; Randy Samson, Seymour; Kathy Samson, Seymour; and Julie Samson, Freemont. Further survived by 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters: Lois (Robert) Heimbaugh, Ashton, IL; Catherine (Nelson) Niesler, Creve Cour, IL.

Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents is her brother Herb Nevitt of Oxford, MS.

Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 9 am until services at 11 am with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
