Frank Schnabl

June 3, 1927 — September 10, 2014

Frank J. Schnabl, age 87, of Nichols, passed away comfortably Wednesday evening on September 10, 2014 at his home. He was born June 3, 1927, son of the late Frank Sr. and Hazel (O'Brien) Schnabl.

Frank graduated from U.W. Oshkosh in 1952 and received his Master's from U. W. Eau Claire with a Master's of Science in 1965. He taught high school chemistry at Kewaunee High School until his retirement.

Frank was a World War II Army Veteran, a member of the Three Lakes Legion and Appleton VFW. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek and was an avid historical buff. He was a member of the Nichols and Seymour Historical Society and wrote the Historical Newspaper for Nichols Historical Society for many years. He enjoyed traveling, especially to the Kentucky Derby for which he attended several times. At his cabin in Three Lakes he always remarked, "This place is the closest to God that he ever could get." Frank had a love for animals.

Frank is survived by his best friend Deborah Hausman and cousins.

Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 10 a.m. until funeral mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Theodore Hendricks officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Military Rites will be performed by Appleton VFW.
