Fredrick Joseph Woodke, 79, Seymour, passed away at home with his family at his side on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. He was born on March 19, 1943, to the late Melvin and Grace (Smits) Woodke. Fredrick was united in marriage to Mary Samson on February 24, 1968, and the couple raised two sons.
Fred worked at Kimberly Clark Atlas Mill for 34 years until his retirement in 2000. He greatly enjoyed his hobby farm; Fred loved his tractors and all of the animals. Fred loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Woodke; two sons: Michael (Tammy) Woodke and Kenneth (Tammy) Woodke; four grandchildren: Crystal (Matthew) Odekirk, Kristen (Donald III) Young, Joseph (Katrina) Woodke, and Kyle (Danielle) Woodke; 13 great-grandchildren: Dixie, Kristen, Kelly, Keegan, Kayden, Noah, Khyler, Tristen, Xander, Jace, Jaxon, Jordyn, and Waylon; two brothers: Gerald Woodke and Donald (Jan) Woodke; three sisters-in-law: JoAnn, Nancy and Connie Woodke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Donald Young IV; three brothers: Glen, Nicholas, and John Woodke; one sister, Dorothy (Vernon) Bly; one sister-in-law, Carol Woodke; and his canine companion, Bandit.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 4:30 p.m., Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Burial will take place in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Seymour.
