Frieda Feurig

January 1, 1915 — November 4, 2013

Frieda I. Feurig, age 98, of Seymour passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She was born January 1, 1915 daughter of the late Emil Sr. and Martha (Jeske) Gosse in the Town of Cicero.
On November 28, 1946 she was united in marriage to Don Feurig in Black Creek, celebrating almost 67 years of marriage.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was active for many years in the altar guild.
Frieda earned her teaching degree from UW Stevens Point. She taught in Hawkins, Tomahawk, and retired from Rock Ledge Elementary after 45 years of teaching.
Following retirement Frieda volunteered at Meadow Wood, Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour Historical Society, Home of the Hamburger, and provided in-home respite care.
Frieda was an avid golfer and charter member of Crystal Springs Golf Course. She and Don attended and cheered for the Seymour Thunder at many different sporting events throughout the years. As a season ticket holder since 1948, she was a definitely a big Green Bay Packer fan.
Frieda also enjoyed her big garden and traveling with Don. In 2000 she and Don were named Seymour's Outstanding Citizens.
Survivors include her husband, Don; daughter, Susan (Eric) Ludvigson, De Pere; grandsons: Adam, Milwaukee; and Matthew, Minneapolis; one brother, Emil Gosse, Seymour. Also survived by many precious nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by sisters: Emma (Roger) Rusch and Sadie; one brother, Elmer; three sisters-in-law: Rita, Marian, and Peg Gosse; two brothers-in-law: Gustav (Beth) Feurig and Dr. James S. (Betty) Feurig.
Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in King. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
