Gary Brick

Gary J. Brick, age 88, of Black Creek passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born on July 22, 1935 to the late Raymond and Eleanor (Emmer) Brick.

He served in the US Army for two years, having been stationed in Alaska, and also served in the National Guard.

Gary was united in marriage to Marcia Kohnhorst on May 13, 1961 and the couple moved to Black Creek. Marcia preceded him in death on November 9, 2015.

Gary worked for several years as a hairdresser, which is how he met Marcia, and they owned beauty salons in Black Creek and New London. He later went on to work at Pierce Manufacturing until his retirement.

Gary volunteered his time with the D.A.V., was a military and war buff, and loved his cat.

He is survived by his son, Jason Brick; grandson, Alex (Lilly) Brick; granddaughter, Makeena (Tony Lopez) Brick; great-grandchildren: Luca Lopez and Skyra Brick; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara (Raymond) Krutz.

Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating followed by military honors. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Askeaton.
