Gayle Herb

Gayle M. Herb, 75, of Navarino passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on August 14, 2023. She was born August 12, 1948 daughter of the late Harland and Celia (Nelson) Greely.

On May 13, 1972 she was united in marriage to Charles Herb at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino.

Gayle enjoyed watching sporting events of her children and grandchildren, she was always their number one fan. When she was unable to travel, the games were watched remotely as a dedicated grandmother. Gayle was more proud of their accomplishments off the field than their accomplishments on the field. Aside from family, her flower gardens were her passion. Gayle took great pride in seasonal decorating, crafting, and baking.

Gayle will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend that was always helping others in need.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; children: Chris (Becky) Herb, Shelly (Brian) Cantrell, Joe (Megan) Herb; grandchildren: Shane, Emma, and Carter Herb; Brianna, Connor, and Adysen Cantrell; Cayden, Ethan, Mason, Wyatt, and Tucker Herb; brother, Nelson (Clara) Greely; sisters: Gloria (David) Knapp, Rita (Larry) Cox, and Dawn (Jack) Schmoll. Also survived by members of the Herb family.

In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her sister, Donna (Harland) Gunderson, and a special nephew, Jacob Bergsbaken.

Visitation for Gayle will take place at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino, on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:30 am with Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gayle's memory will be used for special needs children.
