Genevieve M. Grochowski, age 90, passed away Sunday night, July 29, 2007, at the
Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 26, 1917, the daughter of the late Albert and Tekla (Ziolo) Kolek. On October 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lawrence S. Grochowski. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1988. They farmed in the Seymour area and she also worked as a factory worker. Genevieve enjoyed time spent with her family, especially playing games with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crocheting. She was an avid reader and letter writer. Genevieve was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hofa Park.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Grochowski, and Michael Grochowski, both of Seymour; three daughters, Donna (Robert) Lytie, Green Bay; Nancy (Lee) Bisterfeldt, Bonduel; Linda (Bob) Ozarowicz, Pulaski; 7 grandchildren, Tim Lytie, Joe (Jennifer) Lytie, Rena (John) Kyles, Samuel Grochowski, Ben, Tony and Amber Bisterfeldt; 3 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Aidan and Jett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, Mae Gielczewski; and two brothers, Joseph and Frank Kolek.

Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour, on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, W1888 Hofa Park Rd., Hofa Park, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Father Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., officiating.
