Gerald "Jerry" Donald Biese, 73 of Seymour passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1951 son of the late Elzer and Rita (Van Den Heuvel) Biese.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Kramer on May 11, 1974 having celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Jerry and Ruth farmed in the town of Seymour for many years. Farming was Jerry's passion in life. His grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by his children: Roy (Lani) Biese, Linda (Art) Wade, Jim (special friend, Sara) Biese, Michael (Theresa) Biese, and David (Kristen) Biese; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Further survived by his siblings: Barbara Benzschawel, Joan (David) Lease, William (Linda) Biese, Joseph (Sue) Biese, Carol (Sam) Van Dyke, Janice (Dale) Schuessler, and Richard (Kimberly) Biese; brother-in-law, Norm Steffens; sister-in-law, Pamela Biese; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Steffens; brother, Henry Biese; and brother-in-law, James Benzschawel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nick and Hazel Kramer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Rose (Don) Jungenberg, Teresa Kramer, James Kramer, and William Kramer.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a parish prayer service at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Bob Kabat and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
