Harlen Lee Blumreich, 83, Seymour, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, December 27, 2020. The son of the late John "Lawrence" and Elizabeth "Libby" (Meunier) Blumreich was born April 11, 1937. He was a graduate of Seymour High School. Harlen was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965, and he proudly served his country until his father died. When Harlen's father died, he came home to take care of his mother, and he served 10 years in the reserves. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour, where he served in numerous capacities. Harlen was also a member of the Krause-Kraft-Mueller Seymour American Legion Post #106.
He worked at Badger Northland as a material handling manager for over 30 years until they closed. Harlen later worked as an appraiser with Poy Sippi State Bank until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time on the beach and boating. Harlen enjoyed numerous trips to Florida. He also enjoyed Friday night fish frys, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his brother, Leon Blumreich, Charlottesville, VA; nephews and nieces: Lee James, Green Bay; Clifford (Bev) Reis, Seymour; LouAnn Glick, Appleton; John (Jackie) Reis, Seymour, Bing (Beth) Blumreich, Appleton; numerous great nephews and nieces; other relatives and close friends.
Harlen was preceded in death by his sister, Ione Gosse; two nieces: Sue James and Linda Reis.
Harlen will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Guests will be required to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 915 Ivory Street, Seymour, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020, Fr. Sengole Dass officiating. Burial will military honors by the Krause-Kraft-Mueller Seymour American Legion Post #106 will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
