Ort, Harold Jr. (Pete)
Harold C. Ort, Jr., age 76, of Black Creek passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born October 20, 1936 in the town of Ellington to the late Harold Sr. and Grace (Miller) Ort.
Harold graduated with the class of 1954 from Shiocton High School. He was united in marriage to Judy Holz on October 17, 1959 in Appleton.
Harold worked 41 years in construction. He spent the last 26 ½ years with Payne and Dolan Construction of Waukesha as a roller operator on the paving crew. Harold was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139 for 53 years.
He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, riding his bike, keeping the ditches clean, and playing sheepshead with the New London boys. Harold especially loved being with his family.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Shiocton.
Harold is survived by his wife Judy; five sons: Calvin (Karen) Ort, Black Creek; Vernon (Brenda) Ort, Eagle River, Alaska; Roger (Beth) Ort, Nichols; Wayne (Connie) Ort, Bonduel; and Steven (Angela) Ort, Shawano; two daughters: Karen (Daniel) Lynch, La Grange, IL; Diane (Dan) Mueller, Oshkosh; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by 4 sisters: Margaret Nerison, Waterloo, Iowa; Grace Kahler, Shelby Township, Michigan; Mary (Louis) Fischer, Naples, Florida; and Shirley (Clint) Chamberlain; Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Sr. and Bernice; his birth mother Grace; 2 brothers-in-law Harland Nerison and Floyd Kahler.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Trinity United Church of Christ, W6712 Cty Rd F, Shiocton, from 9:30 am until services at 11 am with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
