Hildegarde E. Kavanaugh, age 89, passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. She was born September 9, 1917 in Manitowoc, the daughter of the late Walter and Emma (Althen) Fricke. On October 25, 1943 she was united in marriage to Raymond (Pat) Kavanaugh at St. Mary's in Kaukauna. He preceded her in death August 28, 1999. The couple had celebrated 56 years of marriage together, prior to his death. Hildegarde moved to Kaukauna and operated the Ideal Cafe, and was formerly employed by Farmers and Merchants Bank. She belonged to the Golden Agers in Kimberly. She enjoyed playing cards, including Bridge and was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary of Kaukauna and the Outagamie County Homemakers. She loved to cook and bake and make Christmas candy.
She is survived by her son, Chuck Kavanaugh, Kaukauna and his children, Stacy (Terry) Wilson, Tammy (Dave) Fritsch and their children, Breanna, a step-grandson, Cory and step-granddaughter, Shelby; Mike (Leanne) Kavanaugh and their children, Deanna and Toby; Bob (Tracy) Kavanaugh and their children, Haley and Carley; Becky Kavanaugh and her daughter, Randi; her son, Jerry (Mary) Kavanaugh, Kaukauna and their children, Brian (Heidi) Kavanaugh and their daughter Claire, Matt, David and Erin Kavanaugh; her daughter, Noreen Moeller (Dave Roskom), Freedom and her children, Toni (Mike) Diemel and their children, Ryan, Alexis, Tommy, Jolene (Doug) Allen and their children, Kristin and Kyle; Andy (Cori) Moeller, Mark Moeller and his daughters, Gracie and Ashley. She is also survived by her special family friend, Jerome Van Deraa, Stockbridge.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ray; one sister and one brother.
Friends may call at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Kaukauna, on Thursday, June 28, 2007 from 3 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m., with Father Jerry Pastors officiating. The burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna. The Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.boettcherfuneralhomes.com
