Hollis L. Carpenter, 86, of Nichols passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 13, 2024. He was born January 2, 1938 son of the late Harvey and Edith Carpenter.
Hollis served in the National Guard for two years. On June 6, 1959 he was united in marriage to Lucy Oskey. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2020. Hollis was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek.
Hollis had worked at Kimberly-Clark for 41 years having spent the majority of his career as a machine operator.
He enjoyed getting outside to deer and turkey hunt and fishing with Mike and John. Hollis liked getting on the Harley-Davidson and taking motorcycle trips with Lucy.
He is survived by three children: Cindy (Steve) Diemel, Connie (Rick) Furman, and Mike Carpenter; daughter-in-law, Faye Carpenter; nine grandchildren: Pam (Ron) Figlinski, David (Stephanie) Diemel, Eric (Nicole) Diemel, Brandon (Lindsey) Carpenter, Amanda Carpenter, Jeremiah (special friend, Jaclyn) Carpenter, Ben Carpenter, John (Augusta) Carpenter, and Becca (special friend, Kate) Carpenter; five great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Baylie, Ethan, Cole, and Tegan Diemel, and Tucker Carpenter.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lucy, he was preceded in death by two sons: Marty and Mark Carpenter; and an infant brother.
Visitation for Hollis will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek, on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
