Irene Schaumberg

Irene P. Schaumberg, 94, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. She was born on October 1, 1923, daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Loewenhagen) Court.

On August 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to George Schaumberg. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2005.

Irene was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, where she was a 50 year member of the choir.

She was a leader of the Wild Grove 4-H Club for 42 years and was involved with 4-H at the county level.

Irene is survived by her children: Carl (Diane) Schaumberg, Seymour; Christine (Charles) Warren, Weslaco, Texas; and Jon (Mary) Schaumberg, Seymour; grandchildren: Steve, Bill (Kelly), Carrie (Dan) Habeck, Nick (Jenny), Todd (Keely) and Adam (Chelsey); 15 great-grandchildren; special friend and cousin, Viola Moeller.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Marcia (Wally) Jurgens; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marcella (Earl Sr.) Court.

Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 9:00 am until services at 11:00 am with Pastor Natalie Kramer officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to Irene’s family at www.muehlboettcher.com
