James Richard Crawford, age 78, passed away at home on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
James was born on May 15, 1945, to Leo and Vivian Crawford in Appleton. Later on they moved to Greenville. He graduated from Hortonville High School in 1963. After High School he went to work with his Dad and Uncle in an Auto Body business. In 1982 Jim and a friend bought the business Peotter's Mid-City Truck & Auto from his Dad.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Theobald on October 21, 1972.
He enjoyed going on fishing trips up north and to Canada, deer hunting, spring walleye fishing on the Wolf River, playing cards on Wednesday nights with the guys, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Barb Crawford of 51 years; son, David and wife Jessica; four grandchildren: Alayna, Cashton, Bodhi, and Ophelia; one sister, Sylvia (Mark) Matz; one step-sister, Carolyn (Don) Seierstad; four brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law: Ruth Theobald, Jerome Theobald, Pete (Pat) Theobald, Wilfred Theobald, Sylvester (Rita) Theobald, Kelly Theobald, Ray (Anita) Theobald, Carol Theobald and sister-in-law Barb Crawford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Vivian Crawford; step-mother Lucy; brothers: Robert Crawford, and William Crawford; sister, Kay Crawford; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Albert Theobald; sister-in-law, Jeanette Theobald; brothers-in-law: Norbert Theobald, Donald Theobald, Eugene Theobald
and nephews: Kevin and Doug Theobald.
The funeral liturgy for James will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, N2385 Municipal Drive, Greenville, on Friday, October 20th at 12 Noon with Fr. Michael Warden officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in James' name is being established.
