Hager, James (82)
Neenah
Jim Hager, age 82 of Neenah, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, March 8, 2009 after a courageous and brave battle with sustained illness. He was born on October 16, 1926 in Kew Gardens, NY, son of Marion James and Veulah Hager. He grew up in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, and attended Wayne State University.
On July 1, 1961 he was united in marriage to Weyno Ohlrogge at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Since his partial retirement, he has particularly enjoyed spending time with his wife at their winter home in Sarasota, FL. A tireless worker, Jim will be remembered for his exemplary work ethic and for his commitment to providing for his family. He was still employed by Valley King Corp. when he became ill in December, 2008.
Jim is survived by his wife, Weyno; daughter, Lisa Hager and Fiance, Dennis Kelley, of Appleton; son David Hager of Walnut Creek, CA; and sister-in-law, Joan Hager, Chandler, AZ. Jim will be welcomed into heaven by those who passed before him: his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Stanley, and his two nephews.
Jim was a man of unwavering faith and love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved to worship and deeply appreciated the music in both his Neenah and Sarasota churches. First and foremost, Jim was a family man who loved, unconditionally, his wife and children. Jim was also passionate about playing bridge and cheering for the Packers. His presence will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11 AM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Neenah. Family and friends may call at the church after 9 AM until the time of service. Following cremation, burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.
