James Mccoy

James R. McCoy, age 83, of Shiocton (Town of Maine) passed away on Friday morning, February 14, 2014 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born April 29, 1930, son of the late James and Verna (Kokai) McCoy.

On May 30, 1955 he was united in marriage to Nora Jean Pues.

He was a Korean Army Veteran, where he earned the Purple Heart and was proud to serve his country. Jim was employed for many years, at Badger Highways and prior to retirement at Fox Valley Construction. Jim was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, country music and was a good story teller. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino.

He is survived by his wife Nora Jean; children: Cindy McCoy, Kaukauna; Mike (Darcy) McCoy, Shiocton; Allen (Debbie) McCoy, Shiocton; John (Laurie) McCoy, New London; Kelly McCoy, Shiocton; 12 grandchildren and their spouses; 15 great-grandchildren (soon to be 16).

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and will continue at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Theodore Hendricks and Deacon Don Coenen officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
