James Christian Peeters, 83, Black Creek, passed away after a short battle with cancer on June 6th, 2022, at his home.
Jim was born July 8th, 1938, to the late John and Marjorie (Stilen) Peeters. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Appleton Papers after 34 years. Jim was a farmer at heart and enjoyed his hobby farm raising hogs. He always said it kept his seven children busy and out of trouble. He felt like a rich man as each one of his children was worth a million dollars.
Jim married the love of his life, Frances (Kostalek) Peeters, on June 3rd, 1961, at St Peter's Catholic Church in Slinger. He is survived by his wife, Fran; seven children: Susan (Gerald) Larson, Jean (Thomas) Mikle, Henry Peeters, David Peeters, Karen (Steven) Ries, Andrew (Jennie) Peeters, and Janet (Gregory) Letter; 17 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
He is further survived by three brothers: John, Leland, and Richard Peeters; one sister-in-law, Lois Peeters; and three brothers-in-law: Wilfred Theobald, Roland Kostalek, and Frank (Merrie) Kachelmeier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Theresa (Kern) Kostalek; his step-father-in-law, Frank Kachelmeier; his infant son, Philip John Peeters; his twin sister, Jeanette Theobald; his brother, Donald Peeters; five sisters-in-law: Norma Peeters, Dorothy Peeters, Monica Peeters, Erma Peeters, and Patricia Kostalek; and one brother-in-law, John (Carol) Kostalek.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 11th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 301 E. Burdick St, Black Creek, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m., Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. Burial with military honors by the American Legion Post #332 will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory.
