Father James Conradt, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning July 23, 2024, with his loving wife Nancy by his side.
James was born on a farm in Shawano County, Wisconsin to Elmer and Irene Conradt. James married Nancy Hager of Oshkosh, Wisconsin on December 24, 1983.
Jim graduated from Seymour High School in 1955. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years. He began working at Valley Iron Works (a.k.a. Allis Chalmers and Voith) in 1959 as an accountant and later as a personnel supervisor until his retirement. After retiring Jim began a new journey and was ordained as an Episcopal priest in September of 1996. He was a serving priest at St. Anne's Church in DePere WI for several years and then St. Paul's Church in Suamico, WI for 18 years until his retirement. Father Jim was dedicated to the Lord, showing his faith through his service work with Stephen Ministries and Cursillo.
Father Jim was an avid fly fisherman and loved to fish his secret streams in Wisconsin and Montana. His other interests included gun collecting, Civil War history, motorcycles, taxidermy, woodworking, reading and music. Jim sang in the McDowell Male Chorus for many years. He especially loved watching his favorite sports teams the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed traveling with Nancy and several years ago they were able to take a memorable Alaskan Cruise.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Faye Conradt; daughters Maureen Ward (Thomas), Laureen Nelson (Mike), step-daughter Sheryl Taylor (Bucky (Don)), step-son Michael Ludwig (Kathy), grandchildren; Tyler Morin (Jill), Casey Morin (Lauren, Zach Morin (Caitlin), Dominic Renteria, Astee Conradt, Billie Jo Sabel, Mike Nelson Jr., Tori Hebert (Ethan), Tasha Hughes (Jeremy), Nicholas Ludwig (Tiffany, Holly Callaghan (Matthew), Rebecca Kuether (Devan), great grandchildren; Lola, Vincent, Amelia, Roman, Fayth, Wyatt, Mason, Lucas, Jackson, August, Finley and Emerson. Special Friends; Brad McIntyre, Jan and Mike Ajango, Bob and Sheri Samuels. Special neighbors; Tom and Marianne Nettekoven, Greg and Lori Hansel and Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Irene Conradt and sister Sherry Fleming.
Father Jim's life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 347 Libal St, De Pere, WI 54115 with Father Tyler Richards officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
