James "Smilie" A. Werner, age 66, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 14, 2014. He was born December 8, 1947, son of the late Alfred and Stella (Wippich) Werner.
He was employed by Old Dutch Food as a distributor and also had his own business Smilies Distributors. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim donated his time and products, to different charities. He was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his two sons: Patrick Werner, Oshkosh; Eric (Michelle) Werner, Milwaukee; his daughter, Colleen Werner, Green Bay; five grandchildren: Breeanna, Jacob, Zachary, Rebecca and Cassandra; two sisters: Alice (Al) Leurquin, Green Bay; Nancy (Dale) Pett, Delavan; one brother, Jerry (Chris) Werner, Green Bay; half-sister, Lorraine (Bob) Jankowski, Neenah; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by two half-brothers: Alvin "Beaver" and Celeste "Shorty" Jach.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. with memorial services at 7 p.m. Burial will take place in the Seymour City Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at
