Janet (Kleist) Barclay passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Theda Clark surrounded by her family. She was born July 7, 1944, daughter of the late Ralph and Opal (Sherwood) Kleist. She grew up in the Town of Osborn on her parent's farm and attended school at Pioneer and later graduated from Seymour High School.
On May 11, 1963, she was united in marriage to Maurice Barclay. Maurice was starting to farm down the road when they met and continues to be run in the family by their son, Doug. Maurice preceded her in death October 23, 1999.
Country living, farming and flowers were her passion. Her flower beds were enjoyed by all who visited the farm. She loved taking care of her family, going to concerts with her friends, crafting and creating wood projects for her loved ones. Janet was an avid supporter of her grandchildren she enjoyed the help she got from them with the birds and the flowers. They loved spending time on the farm, riding the 4 wheeler, playing with cats and cows. Nothing could make her smile like a handpicked bouquet of dandelions from the grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Barbara (Joe) Schaefer, and their children: Amber (fiancAC. Corey Evers) and Amanda Schaefer; Scott Barclay, and his children: Bailie and Jacob Barclay; Bonnie McClone (special friend Robert), and her children: Kristi (Richard) Rose and Morgan and Mya McClone; Doug Barclay; sister, Jean (Bill) Seidl, Seymour; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jean (Bud) Albert, Melvin (Barb) Barclay, Donald (Vonnie) Barclay, Gail Barclay, Michael (Linda) Barclay and Ann (Karl) Kuehl.
Janet is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Maurice and Margaret Barclay; a brother-in-law, Terry Barclay.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. and visitation will continue at New Life United Methodist Church, Seymour on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating.
