Jason Michael Peters, Laweli yo se? (he has a good heart), age 26, Oneida, of the Turtle Clan, passed away to the spirit world on April 8, 2010. He was born on September 15, 1983 to Nancy E. Barton and Gordon Peters.

Jason was a very loving and caring person. He was known to the family as being "momma's boy" and his relationship with his mom was cherished. All of Jason's family was very important to him, especially his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his mother Nancy E. Barton (companion Ralph L. Powless); his father Gordon Peters (Fern Danay); the siblings he adored: Kanietiiosta Maracle, Waehiahoweh Maracle, Elizabeth Peters, Felicia Peters, Gordon Peters, John Peters; his beloved grandparents, Robert and Julie Barton; aunts and uncles: Robert Barton Jr., Larry (Jane) Barton, Lori (Mel) Webster, Kendall Barton, Lawrence Peters, Patricia (George) Pecore, Carol (Jim) Fish, Arlene Peters, Ruth Peters, Kathleen Peters, Richard Peters. Jason loved his nieces and nephews: Lexi Rae, Daniel, Ceceila, Jazmin, Logan, Derrick; special friends: Uncle Fred Lynk and Herman Santos.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jim and Josephine Peters and numerous cousins.

Friends and family are welcome at Oneida Longhouse on Sunday, April 11, 2010 beginning at 5 PM and continuing until the ceremony on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10 AM at Oneida Longhouse, Reformatory Road, Oneida. Bob Brown will officiate with burial taking place at the Oneida Nation Cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family.
