Jean Gritt

September 8, 1924 — June 25, 2016

Jean Gritt, age 91, of Black Creek, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born September 8, 1924 a daughter of the late Irven and Julia (Boulanger) Johnston.
On October 11, 1941 she was united in marriage to Chester Gritt in Green Bay. Chester preceded her in death on March 12, 1992.
Jean and Chester farmed in the Black Creek area until their retirement. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Seymour.
Jean enjoyed shopping, baking, cleaning, and was an avid Brewer fan. She was the best mom and grandma that anyone could ever ask for.
She is survived by her children: Virginia (Dennis) Zablocki, Pulaski; Sandy (Tom) Oskey, Black Creek; Maureen (Raymond) Zablocki, Black Creek; and Bob (SharRee) Gritt, Black Creek; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Further survived by a sister, Naomi (Roy) Magnuson, Chicago; several nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (Dan) Golonka; great-grandchild, Zoe Fiers; two brothers, Scott Johnston and Jerry Johnston; and also Chester's brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Brian Belongia and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating.
