Jean F. (Rohloff) Mongin, 99, Seymour, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. She was born on the farm in Seymour on March 31, 1923, to the late Peter and Fern (Russell) Blanshan. On September 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Florian Rohloff. They enjoyed going to Eagle River every summer, where they spent time playing cards, fishing, and socializing with friends and family. They had a soft spot in their hearts for their canine companion, Towser. Florian preceded Jean in death on October 14, 2003.
Jean was a secretary for Armour Foods for over 30 years. She was the President of the Seymour Women's Club from 1964-1966, and was proud to be named the recipient of their "Outstanding Citizen of the Year" award in 1999. Jean was a happy person who enjoyed a simple life. She found joy playing cards, especially Sheepshead, with her friends.
In her final years, Jean was blessed to meet and marry James Mongin in August 2014 at Meadow Wood Assisted Living / Good Shepherd, in Seymour. The couple met while Jean was facilitating a game of Bingo, which was one of her passions. Together they shared the joys of companionship and community with other residents and staff. Jim preceded Jean in death on July 30, 2019.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Ken Proulx, Darlene (Gary) Wegner, Marcia Bethurem, Peter (Marilyn Wolman) Blanshan, Thomas (Jill) Proulx, Richard (Joyce) Proulx, Sue (Barb Smith) Blanshan, Patricia Blanshan, and Priscilla Ralls; six step-children: Rosanne (William) Curran, David Mongin (Doris Schoneman), Mary (Mike) Kaspar, Paul (Mary) Mongin and Carl (Nanette) Mongin, and Karen (Denis) Fullerton; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at New Life United Methodist Church, 721 Pleasant Way, Seymour, from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Gail Ray officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Bus Fund at Good Shepherd Services in Seymour.
