Jerome "Romy" A. Stephani, age 77, of Black Creek, lost a long battle with COPD on Sunday evening, October 12, 2014 and returned home to the glorious gates of Heaven where he was reunited with Jeff, the son he missed so much. He was born January 20, 1937, son of the late Jacob and Lorinda (Beyer) Stephani.
On October 30, 1982 he was united in marriage to Marcella Becher.
Romy drove concrete truck for MCC for 37 years and was very proud of every load that he delivered. He also farmed for several years in the town of Black Creek.
Romy enjoyed a good fish fry with his family on Friday nights and listening to his polka music. He dearly loved his grandchildren and watching them play.
Survivors include his wife, Marcie; daughters: Jennifer Wade, Seymour; Barbara Gilbert, Indiana; grandchildren: Preston Wade, Joey and Giulianna D'Amico; siblings: Eugene Stephani, Florence McCarthy, Delores (Arnie) Strauch, Lawrence (Delores) Stephani, Joyce (Dr. Vern) Manthei, Roselyn Mauthe, Kathleen (James) Fischer, and LaVerne (Ronald) Cropsey; mother-in-law, Rita Becher; sister-in-law, Lavina Stephani. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Romy was preceded in death by his son, Jeff; sister, Elvera Maroszek; brother, Ervin Stephani; father-in-law, Francis Becher; brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 4-8 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm and on Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Father Bob Kabat officiating.
