Joan Seitz
April 28, 1944 - March 7, 2024
Joan Seitz, age 79, passed away on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 at Appleton Medical Center with her family by her side.
Joan was born on April 28, 1944 in Oconto Falls, WI, to John and Arlyle (Rusch) Bahrke. She grew up with three siblings and attended Gillett High School. She was joined in marriage to Roger Seitz in Gillett, WI, on May 18th, 1968, and together they spent 55 years together raising seven children and a lifetime of farming.
In her younger years, Joan worked at Aid Association for Lutherans and in her free time played softball where she was known for her stout pitching for greater than 15 years.
Joan loved to play Sheepshead, where she and Roger spent many nights over the past couple of years taking in games with their card club, the Ladies Aid, and family and friends. She tended her garden every summer with pride. Jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, and board games were also favorites of Joan's. She loved sports, and even ventured into having a Fantasy Football team this past season. She took on attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's events as a second profession, and rarely missed a soccer game, art show, Christmas program, birthday parties, music concert, basketball game, theater production, softball game, cross country meet, county fair, or graduation that they were a part of. Above all she loved spending time with family.
Joan was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Black Creek, serving as a member of the Ladies Aid Association for many years.
Joan is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roger Seitz, Black Creek; along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Wayne (Kelly) Seitz and Hailey, Black Creek; Ellen (Chris) Baumgartner, Wrightstown, and Katlyn (Kyle) VanderHeiden, Stella and Ruby, Wrightstown; and Brianne (Blake) Otto, and Chloe, Parker, and Emmy (Kaukauna); Kathy (Kent) Troxel, and Kahlie (special friend Wyatt), Kara, and Kendra, all of Pulaski; Dean (Deb) Seitz, Seymour, and Alyssa (fiancee Billy Zeimet), New London, Morgan, La Crosse, and Connor, Seymour; Mark (Cindy) Seitz and Nathan, Amber, and Miranda, all of Krakow; Craig (Heather Summers) Seitz and Addison, Savannah, and Cheyenne, all of Green Bay; and Nancy (Lance) Mertens, De Pere and JoAnn, Port Washington, Sayna, and Riley, both of De Pere.
