Joan M. Wagner, age 79, passed away on May 6, 2010 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home with her family at her side. She was born June 11, 1930 to the late Christ and Frances (VerCauteren) Cleven.
Joan graduated from Seymour High School. On November 11, 1950 she married Carl Wagner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida. She was an active member of St. Sebastian's and a member of the Christian Mothers Society. Joan and Carl farmed for over 40 years in the Isaar area.
She enjoyed cooking and was well known for her apple crisp and strawberry jam. Joan enjoyed cleaning and spent many hours in her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed time spent at their cabin in Underhill and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Carl; and their children: Sharon (Tom) Prevost, Green Bay; Chris (Judy Sigl) Wagner, Underhill; Judy (Larry) Larson, Appleton; Sue (Russ) Miller-Evensen, Greenville; William Wagner, Black Creek; daughter-in-law, Debbie Wagner (Russ), Freedom; grandchildren: Wendy Wagner, Scott (Shela) Prevost, Trisha (fiance Cory Krizizke) Prevost, Jeff (Ricki) Wagner, Melissa (Scott) Hooyman, Jenna (Brendan) Anderson, Jared (Jamie Werden) Hammel, Justin (Amy) Miller, David (Nikki) Miller; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Mason, Jackson, Leah, Emily, Baby Wagner, Sierra, Rob, Grace, Kaleb; four brothers: Jerry (Joyce) Cleven, Green Bay; David Cleven, Oneida; Jackie (Jane) Cleven, Neenah; Danny Cleven, Green Bay; one sister, Dorothy (Jack) Heezen, Green Bay.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry; sister, Janette Van Lanen; two brothers, William Cleven and Lloyd Cleven; and a son-in-law, Glenn Miller.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 4 PM until 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 with Deacon Don Coenen. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
