Our mom, Joann Marie Hein, 83, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at a Green Bay hospital after a brief illness. She was born July 17, 1933 to Harold and Esther (Erickson) Reinke, in Shawano County, Town of Lessor. She attended Seymour High School, Class of 51. Mom then went to Neenah/Menasha Technical School for Practical Nursing and worked in surgery at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay. On December 10, 1955, she married "her Bud", our dad, Walter "Bud" Hein. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2003.
Mom was a stay at home mom as she cared lovingly for her family. She later took a part-time job at Seymour Drug for 22 years. After dad passed, she volunteered at Good Shepherd Nursing home and was the Wednesday night Bingo caller at Meadow Wood (she wasn't fond of Bingo but loved "her people").
She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, serving as Sunday School Superintendent for 5 years, and active with Concordia and Women of the Church. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary for 58 years and was president of the Good Shepherd Volunteers. She enjoyed her Packers, Brewers, Badgers and whatever activities her grandchildren were involved in and she adored her great-granddaughters.
She is survived by her three daughters: and their families: Carrie (Duane) Gorges, Seymour; Kelly ( Bruce) Brusewitz, Green Bay; and Sarah (Scott) Schaumberg; her grandchildren: Kayla (Scott) Raether and great-granddaughters, Ella Marie and Nora Lynn, Laura Jo (Philip) Robertson, Jill Gorges, Joseph Leiterman, Michael Schaumberg (special friend, Stacey Larson), Erik Schaumberg, and Bryan Schaumberg. She is further survived by a sister, Ruth McHan, Neenah; a brother-in-law, Vic (Janiece) Hein, Black Creek; a sister-in-law, Patricia Streur, Appleton; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her in-laws, Joe and Alice Hein; brothers-in-law: Norm McHan and John Streur; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Hinkens and Trudy Dunham.
