Joann Vande Corput

JoAnn "Peggy" M. Vande Corput, age 79, passed away on May 21, 2014. She was born July 12, 1934 a daughter of the late Harold and Eileen (Oswald) Schroeder. Peggy married John Vande Corput on May 2, 1953 at St. Joseph Church in Green Bay and celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Peggy and John farmed in the town of Seymour for 36 years. She later volunteered and worked as a CNA at Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Meadow Wood Assisted living in Seymour. Peggy work there for 23 years and was still currently working.

Peggy had a very strong faith in God and was an active member of Rivers of Life Christian Center in De Pere.

Peggy was also the neighborhood seamstress; she fixed, mended, and patched clothes for her family and many others. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed her weekly shopping trips. Giving Christmas gifts to friends and family was one of her most favorite things to do (she already had some gifts wrapped for this year) and was very generous in her giving to others.

Gardening was one of Peggy's favorite hobbies. She was well-known for her salsa that she made from the vegetables in her garden.

Peggy is survived by her husband, John; her children: David (Debbie), Robin (Ron) Fischer, Todd (Rhonda), Brenda (Dan) Minard, Roger (Dodie), and Jody (Sherry); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Beverly Ziese, Donna Lambert, Harold Schroeder, Roger (Mary Lou) Schroeder, and Judy (Ken) Mineau; and brother-in-law Joe (Laverne) Vande Corput.

She was preceded in death by her son John; and sister, Betty Olejniczak.

Friends may call at Rivers of Life Christian Center, 522 Orlando Drive, De Pere, WI 54115 on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 8:30 am until the funeral service at 10:30 am with Pastor John Dessart officiating. Burial will take place at the South Cicero Cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
