Joel Richard Prellwitz, age 47, went to a new address on September 9, 2010 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born November 21, 1962 in Appleton to James Sr. and Sonja (Wegner) Prellwitz. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek.
Joel graduated from Seymour High School in 1981. Following high school he worked at Outagamie Producers Co-op until his illness in 1983. Joel was recently employed with Menard's West in Appleton.
He loved going to the Shawano stock car races with his dad and enjoyed playing cards at family gatherings.
Joel is survived by his parents; brother, Jamie (Laura) Prellwitz, Manitowoc; godparents, Dennis (Helen) Wegner, Shawano. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 4 PM until 7 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday September 13, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek from 10 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Schlicht officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society in Joel's memory.
