John Knorr

John "Jack" B. Knorr, 70, of Seymour passed away on July 5, 2020 at home. He was born July 12, 1949 in Watertown, WI.

Jack graduated from Shiocton High School and enlisted in the US Air Force.

He was united in marriage to Glenda Bessette on September 6, 1969 and the coupled celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Jack went into business with Glenda's family at Mer and Jackie's Supper Club and the Rainbow Supper Club in New London. He gained an interest in refrigeration work keeping the coolers running at the supper clubs. That lead him to get educated and certified in refrigeration and he began a career with Rich Products in Appleton. While employed at Rich Products, he earned his electrical certifications which were put to use at Kimberly Clark and at Coating Excellence until his retirement.

He was continually pursuing education. Jack earned certifications in computer repair and tax preparation, which he volunteered his time to assist people with their income taxes at the Vita program and through AARP. Jack also earned his pilot's license and was a flight instructor.

He enjoyed getting out on the golf course any chance he could get. It was his goal to golf at as many golf courses in Wisconsin as he could. He had achieved two holes-in-one.

Jack and Glenda did a lot of traveling over the years. While Glenda was on a ride, Jack would find a golf course.

He is survived by wife, Glenda Knorr; daughter, Katrina (Anthony) Steiner; grandchildren: Anton and Abigail Steiner; twin brother, James (Dora) Knorr; half-brother, Maurice (Deb) Webb; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jeno (John) Bast, Sonja (Mike) Braun, Merlin "Joe" (Connie) Bessette, Cindy (Jeff) Rohloff, Mitch (Dawn) Bessette. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friend.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy (Strong) Knorr; his son, John Jr. "Squeak" Knorr; in-laws: Merle and Jackie Bessette; and half-siblings.

A private family memorial service will take place for Jack. The family will be planning a public celebration of life that will be take place at a later date. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
