John A. Lemke, age 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton, surrounded by his family. John was born on September 1, 1942 to Marvin and Beatrice (Riemer) Lemke in Shawano, Wisconsin.
John was united in marriage to Lois Hinkfuss on September 19, 1964. John was employed as a Steamfitter by August Winters and Sons for 45 years retiring in 2006. In 1972, John and Lois purchased a "hobby" farm and moved to Black Creek. John enjoyed farming, bowling, and traveling around the United States with "Farmers on the Bum". John also enjoyed working on countless projects with his children.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois; children: Lee (Lisa) Lemke; Larry (Teresa) Lemke; Lynn (Greg) Vander Linden; Loren (Kris) Lemke all of Black Creek. Grandchilden: Justin, Adam and Colleen Lemke; Brad Lemke; Eric and Nathan Bunnell; Zach, Tori, and Reed Lemke. Step-Grandchildren: Camron, Kaylee and Zak. Sisters: Mary (Jim) Luepke, Bonduel; Dorene (Owen) Boettcher, Normal, IL; One brother Dean (Joni) Lemke, Coleman. Brothers-in-law Roger(Donna) Braun, Seymour and Ronald(Jean) Hinkfuss, Bonduel;
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Darla Lemke.
Friends may call Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Visitation will continue at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black Creek, on Thursday October 18, 2018 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Steve Schlicht officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
