John Z. Rader, age 64, of Seymour passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 13, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 16, 1948 to John Sr. and Anna (Orovich) Rader.
John earned a Human Resources degree from Marquette University. He worked in human resources his entire career in various foundries and businesses. He was employed for many years with Neenah Foundry, working his way up to vice-president.
John served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He married Sue Dethardt Rusch on May 28, 2001 in Seymour.
John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a known jokester and teased the ones he liked the most. John enjoyed gathering with family and friends and always took the lead as the grill master.
He is survived by his wife Sue; four daughters: Heather (Brandon) Sutton, Council Bluffs, IA; Kristi (Jeff) Crooks, Seymour; Debbie (Mike) Lahay, Pulaski; and Lorie Rusch, Seymour; six grandchildren: April, Megan, Allison, Mikayla, Ashlinn, and Lane; sister Jean (Tim) Kuhn, Birnamwood; three brothers: Dan (LuAnn) Rader, Gurnee, IL; Dave (Linda) Rader, Mayville; and Greg Rader, Horicon. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Mark Kuhn.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 3 pm until the memorial service at 5:30 pm with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating.
Expressions of sympathy other than flowers can be expressed as memorials to the Seymour Relay for Life.
