John Edmund Shepard, 76, Black Creek, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. He was born September 28, 1945, to the late John and Caroline (Hintz) Shepard. John was a Vietnam veteran, having proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during combat from 1965-1967.
John was employed as a truck driver for MCC for 30 years. He later worked for the Wisconsin DOT for 20 years until his retirement in 2016. John was a classic car enthusiast. He was a quiet person, and was extremely knowledgeable and had an incredible work ethic.
He is survived by his siblings: Donald (Bonnie) Shepard, Sally (Dennis) Lorenz, Jean Shepard, Wayne Shepard, Judy (Brian) Ziewacz, Denis (Berniece) Shepard, Terry (Ellen) Shepard, and Jeffrey (Wanda) Shepard; one sister-in-law, Linda Shepard; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Shepard; and one sister-in-law, Suzette Shepard.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Military honors by the Krause-Kraft-Mueller American Legion Post #106 will follow. Burial will take place at St. John Evangelical Cemetery in Black Creek.
