John Wagner, age 87, passed away on March 14, 2025. He was born on March 14, 1938 to the late Lawrence and Harriet (Tilque) Wagner.
On June 4, 1960 he was united in marriage to Joan Page and celebrated over 64 years together. Joan preceded him in death on February 22, 2025. John and Joan were best friends their entire life and rarely spent a moment apart.
He grew up in the Kunesh area and after getting married moved to Seymour, Appleton, Baraboo, and eventually settled in Shawano.
John enjoyed playing softball, which he did well into his forties, and bowled for several years. He also enjoyed attending the grandchildren's sports activities and other events.
He is survived by sons: Jeff (special friend, Mindy) Wagner and Larry (Lisa) Wagner; grandchildren: Stephen (Kassie) Wagner and Mary Jo Wagner; great-grandchildren: Rhye, Aiden, and twins: Annabelle and Ava. Further survived by sister: Ethel Duhm and Sandy (Frank) Krummey; sister-in-law, Sandra Klitzke; brother-in-law, Norbert Siolka; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Margaret "Maggie" Wagner; grandson, Sean Wagner; sister, Maryann Siolka; brothers-in-law: Dewey Klitzke and Roy Duhm; and brother-in-law, William "Billy" Page.
Visitation for John and Joan will take place on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home at 9:00 am until their memorial service at 11:00 am with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Interment will take place at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Rose Lawn.
