Joyce Mary Hendzel lived a beautiful and meaningful life. She was a woman of unwavering comfort and compassion, always giving freely while asking little in return. Her presence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born to the late Francis and Irma (Carriveau) Blaser, Joyce grew up on a cherished family farm alongside her brothers, Dean and Jack. It was there that she discovered her love for cooking and baking, talents that would later enrich the lives of her family and community.
In 1958, Joyce met the love of her life, Donald, known fondly as Donny, who was instantly smitten. Theirs was a bond built on devotion and deep affection, culminating in their marriage in 1960. Together, they made their home in Seymour, WI, where they raised their family and shared over six decades of life together. Joyce was an admired member of the community, known for her work in banking for over 30 years and her talent for creating elegant cakes for weddings and special occasions.
As a mother of five, grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of eleven, Joyce was the heart of the Hendzel family. Her home was a sanctuary of warm hospitality, where love and laughter were constants. She embodied the finest qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and generosity, which were evident in the care she showed to those around her.
In 2008, Joyce dedicated her life to God as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, finding profound comfort and peace through her study of the Bible. She treasured the hope found in Revelation 21:3-4, which promises a time when "death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." This hope brought her solace, and she eagerly anticipated the day she would be reunited with loved ones when all pain and sorrow are gone.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Donny; her children: Jeff Hendzel, Laura Melotte (Bruce), Scott Hendzel (Louise), and Lynn Cornell (Jerry Fischer); her grandchildren: Sarah Heimerl (Kyle), Erica Wolf (Dan), Erin Muthig (Andrew), Jolene and Jessie Melotte, Levi Grudznske, Hannah Hendzel, Jenna Buman (Skyler), Jodine Martin (Brad), and Garret Cornell; and her great-grandchildren: Demi Heimerl, Carson and Connor Muthig, Irma Melotte, Krew Pecha, Lydia, Sawyer and Frankie Joyce Buman, Maci and Nora Martin, and Bennet Cornell; and her sisters-in-law Donna Blaser and Lorraine Hendzel. She is further survived by many cherished family members and friends too numerous to name but never forgotten.
Joyce was preceded in death by her son Randy Hendzel; her parents; her brothers Dean and Jack Blaser; her father- and mother-in-law Edward Sr. and Martha Hendzel; her brothers-in-law Edward "Butch" and Gerald Hendzel; her sister-in-law Kathy Hendzel; and numerous other loved ones.
