Joyce Thiel, 310 Fulton Street , Seymour, age 81, died Wednesday evening, December 8, 2010 at her home with family by her side. She was born May 14, 1929, daughter of the late Melvin and Harriet (Tubbs) Marcks.

On June 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to James Thiel at the Cicero United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong resident of the area and farmed with her husband in the Town of Cicero until retirement. Joyce was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Cicero United Methodist Women. She lived her life in service to the Lord.

She is survived by her children 3 sons and daughter-in-laws: John (Sue) Thiel, Green Bay; Michael (Shirley) Thiel, Seymour; Bill (Lori) Thiel, Seymour; 5 daughters and son-in-laws: Marilyn (Terry) Butters, Beloit; Sharon (Ken) Blohm, Seymour; Susan (Jim) Elliott, Texas; Virginia (Bruce) Cameranesi, Brookfield; Victoria (John) Smits, Oshkosh. She is further survived by her grandchildren that she loved so much: Lynda Thiel, Adam Thiel, Melissa (Burke) Junion, Sarah Thiel, Jennifer Thiel, Dawn (Adam) Wanninger, Renee (Eric) Engen, Matt (Jen) Butters, Mike (Kelly) Blohm, Brian Blohm, Jenny (Matt) Schuh, Danny Blohm, Ryan Elliott, Robert (Michelle) Elliott, Richard Elliott and fiance Brandy, Erica Thiel, Tyler Thiel, Emily (Jeff) Neuman, Carley (Joe) Roskom, Amanda (CJ) Rettler, Nathan (Kellie) Thiel, Isaac Thiel, Jessica McKenna, Olivia McKenna and Jacob Rentmeester; great- grandchildren: Nicole & Allison Eick, Grace & Grant Junion, Jael, Mara, Leah and Oren Wanninger, Joshua, Rachel and Jacob Butters, Cassandra, Stephani and Theresa Prendiville, Brook and Mikey Blohm, Mason Hernandez, Morgan Schuh, Alyssa Elliott, Paige and Jada Elliott, Gavin and Lucille Neuman, Kaylee & Kendra Rettler and Noah Thiel; 3 brothers: Donald Marcks, Charles (Elsie) Marcks, Earl (Sharon) Marcks; 4 sisters: Nancy Holz, Darlene (Bob) Butters, Dee (Jim) Buchholz, Margie (Denny) Brinkman; and 2 sisters-in-law, Velda Thiel and Bette Marcks

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband James, 2 brothers, James Marcks and Dale Marcks, 2 brother-in-laws, Carl Thiel and Vernon Thiel; 1 sister-in-law, Beverly Marcks.

Friends may call at the Muehl Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Monday, December 13, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. at Seymour United Methodist Church with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Appleton.
