Karen K. Ebel, age 79, of Cecil passed away early Monday morning September 9, 2024 at Shawano Place Assisted Living with her daughter by her side. She was born November 22, 1944 daughter of the late Elmer and Erma (Hasse) Dalum.
On December 16, 1967 she was united in marriage to Gerald Ebel.
Karen was a cook at Maple Lane Health Care Center for many years. She took a great deal of pride and satisfaction in serving the elderly and being able to nurture them with food. Karen enjoyed cooking and made sure that the family had a home cooked meal and a large spread for holidays and special occasions. She loved baking and her lemon pie was her signature item. She was also a floral designer at Garys Floral Land in Appleton, WI. Karen had many talents and was very creative and artsy. You could almost always find her working on some sort of a counted cross stitch project in her earlier years and later diamond art. She enjoyed many other hobbies which included crocheting, painting, ceramics, making and painting porcelain dolls, baking, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends, and taking short trips with her children and grandchildren. Karen loved the outdoors and enjoyed Gods creation by sitting outside her house next to the lake watching the wildlife especially the birds. Karen was a loving, kind, softspoken soul that was faith filled. Karen will be missed by so many persons that have been touched by her kindness, especially her dear friend Millie Schultz who she spent countless hours with.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald; children: Scott (Joanne) Ebel and Kristen (Gene) Meyer; grandchildren: Steven (Erica) and Austin (Fiance Nicole) Ebel, Chelsie (Ryan) Wendt, Brooke Pethke, and Justin (Cora) Pethke; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Tilden, Peyton, and Mason; step grandchildren: Angela (Autumn) Meyer, Ryan (special friend Carla) Meyer; step great-grandchildren: Alexis and Carson.
