Kenneth "Ken" L. Braun, age 78, of Black Creek, passed away Friday morning, March 21, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 18, 1935 son of the late Raymond and Virgillia (Ahsman) Braun.
On September 6, 1954 he was united in marriage to Joyce Kropp.
Ken was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek. Ken and his wife owned and operated Ken's Riverside in Shiocton. He was a member of the Outagamie Co. and State Tavern Leagues for many years, where he served 12 years on the State Board. Ken was a past Black Creek Fire Dept. member, a member of the Shiocton Airport Flyers Club and The Shiocton Business League. He served on the Outagamie Co. Fair Association for many years.
Ken enjoyed his garden on Hwy 54 and the visits from his many friends. Family was important to him, especially visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; children: Karen (Tom) Buss, Appleton; Tim (Penny) Braun, Shiocton; Cynthia Braun, Shiocton, Susan (Dean) Cheslock, Greenville; Patty (Joe Friday) Braun, Greenville; Steve Braun, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; brothers and sisters: Jim (Barbara) Braun, Barb (Dave) Husman, Dennis (Marlene) Braun, Jerry (Jane) Braun, Sharon (David) O'Shasky, Sandra Braun, Vicki Van Vreede, Tom (Barbara) Braun, Don (Pam) Braun; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marilyn Braun, Eugene (Shirley) Kropp, Kathy (Denis) Gillickson, Dennis (Doris) Kropp; many nieces and nephews
Ken was preceded in death by his grandson Chase; one brother, David Braun; three sisters: Carmen (Vernon) Beyer, Mary and Natalie Braun; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ambrose and Eleanor Kropp.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Theodore Hendricks officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
