Kenneth L. Buman, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011 with his family and special nurse Joscelyne by his side at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born October 28, 1934, son of the late Albert and Marie (Lemke) Buman.
On November 28, 1957 he was united in marriage to Ilamae Marcks in Appleton. Ken was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek where he was active on the church council and ushering. He was an active member of the Duhm-Masch Post 332, of Black Creek, and a Marine Veteran. Ken was a truck driver all his life and served on Black Creek's Town Board for over 20 years.
Ken liked woodworking, snow blowing and lawn mowing. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, spending time at his cottage on Shawano Lake, going to the races and his John Deere Tractor. Most importantly he enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ilamae; his children: Steven (Barb) Buman, Oneida; Stuart (JoDean) Buman, Seymour; 4 grandchildren who he was very proud of: Mark, Katy, Skyler (special friend Katie) and Samantha (special friend Troy); 1 brother, Kermit Buman, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Adelyn (Duane) Schoepke and Alma (Ron) Weber; brother's in law: David Marcks and Bruce Marcks ; half brother-in-law, Jerry (Carol) Marcks; 2 Godchildren: Todd Buman and Joshua Gore, many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law and step father-in-law, sister-in-law, and Fred Lemke who was his uncle and like a brother to him.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 4 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek from 9:30 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Schlicht officiating. Burial at the parish cemetery. Military rites by Duhm-Masch, Post 332 to follow service.
Special thank you to Dr. Brown, Dr. Watch, Dr. Lewis, Courtney Johnson, and all the vascular team and any other doctors who took care of Ken. Also, many thanks to the nurses of 3NT. He won the hearts of many, especially his "Buds": Joscelyne, Mary, Dani, Kimi, Ericka, Patti, Emily, Will and David - He loved you all there are to many to name! You are the greatest staff in the world. Thank you to the nurses on the 3rd floor in SICU. Thanks to all and we will never forget all of you have done for Ken. Thank you to my niece and the Mark Newcomer family for all their help. We couldn't have done it without you!
