Kenneth Ertl

Kenneth A. Ertl, age 84, of Menasha, formerly of Pembine, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017. He was born July 24, 1932, a son of the late Frank and Leona (Singstock) Ertl.
He served in the Army during the Korean war. Following his military service Kenneth was employed by Banta Printing and retired after 40 years of service.
He married Virginia Purdy and together they had two children, Vicky and Kent. She preceded him in death in 1987. Kenneth later married Sharon Peters Litscher.
He loved being outdoors, spending a lot of time during his retirement fishing up north. He was also a big sports fan and an avid Packer supporter. His family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were always his biggest joy.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Sharon; children: Vicky (Clay) Klassen, Neenah; Kent (Dawn) Ertl, Phillips; Patty Litscher, Fox Crossing; Pam Litscher, Oshkosh; and Tim (Amy) Alvarez, Oshkosh; grandchildren: Amanda, Sabrina, Taylor, Sam, Ben, Andrea, Elise, Taya, and Abigail; great-grandchildren: Rylee, Madyson, Layla, and Braxton.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 2:30 pm with Deacon Mark Farrell officiating. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah at a later date. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials can be given to the Fox Valley Warming Shelter and the Disabled American Veterans.
Thank you, Dad, for loving us ALL unconditionally. Although your wings were ready, our hearts were not. Rest in paradise knowing you are loved, more than words can say.
