Kenneth L. Heiting, age 68, Black Creek, WI, passed away July 5, 2013, due to complications from a motorcycle accident. Ken was born to Lawrence and Odelia Heiting on June 25, 1945, in Stanley, WI. He graduated from Stanley High School in 1964. He then served in the United States Army from 1966-1969 achieving the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He served one tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he served a five-year apprenticeship in tool and die. He was united in marriage to Linda Sturges, Neenah, WI, on May 23, 1970. After working as a tool and die maker for several years, he achieved his dream of opening his own shop, Heiting Tool and Die in 1979, along with his wife. They operated the business until 2002. He assisted dozens of young men in getting their trades apprenticeships. He is remembered for treating people fairly, yet expecting the best from them. His greatest enjoyments in life were his children and grandchildren. Doing things to make their lives smoother was what he wanted to do most. He also enjoyed gardening with his wife. Together they maintained their beautifully landscaped property of 11 acres in Black Creek, which they named Windsong Gardens. It became the site for many weddings of family and friends. He was a talented jack-of-all trades, building many projects over the years including a covered bridge and large operating water wheel. He also enjoyed cooking large dinners for his family. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center. His faith in Jesus Christ was most important to him and sustained him through all of life's challenges.
He is survived by his son, Shawn (Tammy), Appleton, WI, their six children, Steven, Jewel, Matthias, Star, Asher, and Noble; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Heiting Lindquist (Jason), Lodi, WI, and their three children, Whisper, Jayden, and Jarrett.
