Kenneth Platten

September 25, 1944 — April 8, 2020

Kenneth "Ken" Platten, 75, of Seymour passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Green Bay Health Care Services in Green Bay. He was born on September 25, 1944 a son of the late Lawrence and Virginia (Hanus) Platten. Ken was a member of St. Sebastian Church in Isaar.

He married Karen Springstroh on September 28, 1968. Together they farmed and raised six children.

Ken served in the Army from 1965-1967 in Germany. He worked at Outagamie County for years until taking over the family farm in 1981. He also drove truck for years for multiple companies before retiring from Green Bay Dressed Beef.

Ken loved watching his son and grandson’s race off-road. He was especially proud in 2017 when he watched Kenny win the World Cup Championship in Crandon.

Ken is survived by his wife, Karen; six children: Karrie (Craig Pionek) Platten, Kris and Tom Moeller, Kelly and Greg Vanark, Karla and Chad Ossmann, Katie and Jake VandeVoort, Kenny (Jodell Gagnow) Platten. Grandchildren- Mandy, Rayann and Chase Moeller, Kendra (special friend Tyler), Kyle and Kegan Vanark, Randy and TJ (finance Janelle) Ewert, Jessica and Melissa Ossmann, Wesley and Robby VandeVoort. He is further survived by a sister, Carol (Jim) Seidl, brother-in-law Gary Wilinski, sister-in-law Donna (Donald) Giese, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wilinski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Millie Springstroh; two nephews and one niece.
