Kenneth "Moon" V. Powless, age 58, of Oneida passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 26, 2024. He was born on October 22, 1965 to the late Kenneth Powless and Madelyn (Stevens) Skenandore.
Ken had a passion for drawing and was truly a talented artist and loved listening to music. He enjoyed deer hunting and traveling every chance he could get with a a lot of stories from Kentucky and Florida. One of his favorite places to be was in the garage working on things that needed to be fixed. As a simple man, he lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by his special friend, Fran Weaver; his children: Shawn (Summer) Dessart, Kody Smith, Kendra (David) Mahan, and Matiius "Moontiius" Benton; grandchildren: Lotatenikuhlak and Yahonahaliyo; siblings: George (Heather) Powless and Kim; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Powless; his mother, Madelyn (Stevens) Skanandore; and step-father, Henry R. Skenandore.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Riverview Baptist Church, 216 N Main Street, Seymour from 12 noon until the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Scotty Backhaus officiating. Burial will take place at the Oneida Assembly of God Cemetery in Oneida.
