Kenneth John "Kenny" Samson, 69, Neenah, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. The son of John and Rose (Kruse) Samson was born on October 14, 1951, in Appleton. Kenny was a 1969 graduate of Shiocton High School.
Shortly after high school, he worked for Consolidated Paper Mill. Kenny later worked for Valley Packaging until his retirement in March, 2020. He loved playing his guitar and lifting weights. Kenny was a sports enthusiast, and especially enjoyed basketball and football. He liked going to Madison to watch the high school state basketball tournaments. In his younger years, he played on the Manitowoc Chiefs practice team, and he won several awards for various sporting events during high school. He enjoyed camping, and his greatest joy was going out to eat.
Survivors include his parents, John (Rose) Samson; siblings: Linda (Don) Stefanic, Randy (Bonny) Samson, Connie Hooyman; nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Eric) Beck and Angela (Chris) Prochniewski, Steven (Aubrey) Samson, Eric (Nikki) Samson, and Cory (special friend, Samantha Miles) Samson, and Tony (Sarah) Hooyman, Rachel (Mike) Krueger, and Austin Hooyman; grand-nephews, grand-nieces, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Paul Hooyman; and one grand-nephew, Colton Krueger.
Guests will be required to wear a mask. Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021, Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bovina Cemetery. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home's Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
