Leeland Carpenter

September 3, 1928 — June 10, 2010

Leeland Carpenter, age 81, of Seymour and formerly of Navarino passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born September 3, 1928 to the late Wilbur and Laura (McHugh) Carpenter in the Town of Maine. On November 8, 1947 he married Naomi Pues in Navarino.

He served his country in the National Guard. Lee worked for the Bergstrom/Gladfelter paper mill and retired in 1991 following 40 years of employment. As a longtime member of the Maranatha Baptist Church he was one of the founding members in the 1960's. Mission trips taking bibles to Mexico and Costa Rica were a passion for Lee as a way to serve his Lord and Savior.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports and most of all spending time with his family.

Lee is survived by his wife Naomi; 3 daughters: Karen (Ron) Jutila, Minot, North Dakota, Sue Ann (Rodney) Wickman, Briarton, and Sarah (Larry) Spettel, Hofa Park; a son Steve (Terrie) Carpenter, Seymour; 9 grandchildren: Samael, Charlotte, Cheryl, Matthew, Daniel, Jacqueline, Peter, Nicholas, and Stephanie; 7 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother Frances Carpenter, Neenah, and a sister Elaine (Leonard) Jones, Little Chute.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 brothers Arnold, Eugene, Wilford, Gordon, Maureece, Carl, and infant brother Marvin; 5 sisters: Julia Philips, Margaret Peterson, Florence Wilbur, and infant sisters Cynthia and Goldie.

Friends may call at Maranatha Baptist Church, W6607 Hwy 156, Shiocton, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 9:30 AM until services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg Sorensen and Pastor Ward Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Bethesda Cemetery, Navarino. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
