Lenard Wendt, 81, Seymour, went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, May 5, 2007, with his loving family beside him. He was born October 7, 1925, at home in the Town of Osborn, son of the late George and Mae (Schaumberg) Wendt.

Lenard married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Witt, June 19, 1948. They resided in the Town of Osborn for 55 years. He graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in 1993, returning in 1992 to obtain his High School Diploma which he was proud of. Lenard was a World War II veteran and honorably discharged July 19, 1945, after his brothers, Chester and George, were killed in battle. He was employed with Kimberly Clark Papers for 35 years retiring in 1990. Lenard and Dorothy farmed and lived on the family homestead in the Town of Osborn since 1953. He was a member of the Freedom Moravian Church and the Seymour American Legion.

Lenard's most treasured times were spent with his family. He enjoyed sporting events, hunting, playing cards, gardening, and tinkering with his farm machinery.

Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy; two sons: Dean Wendt, Seymour, Randy (Jo-Ann) Wendt, Jefferson; two daughters: Charlene (John) Bock, Seymour, Cheryl (Michael) Weber, Green Bay; nine grandchildren: Wendy (Ric) Smith, Riley (special friend Jenny) Woldt, Amy (Aaron) Krahn, Jessie (fiancee Richard Swenson) Woldt, Chad (Sharee) Bock, Jason Wendt, Brett (special friend Elise) Weber, Bryan Weber, Berri (special friend Amy) Woldt; eight great-grandchildren: Gunnar, Randy, Peyton, Hailey, Olivia, Preston, Siddallee and Ava; five step-great-grandchildren: Terol, Richard Jr., Zachary, Alexander, Kiah; four brothers: Louis (Joan) Wendt, Seymour, Fred (Janette) Wendt, Seymour, Everett (Diane) Wendt, Black Creek, Richard (Janet) Wendt, Mountain; two sisters: Julene (Harold) Guyette, Shiocton, Mae (Dale) Dalke Sr., Black Creek; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: Val, Chester, George, Dallas, Darold; two sisters: Lela Wickesberg and Donna Peterson; grandchildren: Corey and Craig Bock

Friends may call at the Muehl - Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2007, and Tuesday at Freedom Moravian Church, Center Valley Road, Freedom, from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jason Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Freedom Moravian Cemetery.
