Leslie "Les" G. Mueller, 82, of Seymour, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at his home with his family by his side, after a short bout with cancer. He was born July 2, 1935, in Seymour, son of the late Carlton and Johanna (Schroeder) Mueller.
On September 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Shirley Fuss. Les was a graduate of Seymour High School. Following school, he joined the Army and was honorably discharged on December 31st, 1963. Returned home, went into farm drainage first as Mueller's Excavating, then as PMP Trenching Inc. He was proud of doing tiling and caring for the soil for 57 years and planned to retire and sell the business this year. He very much valued the relationships he made with each farmer and enjoyed Sunday driving looking over the farms ensuring his work was still up to his high standards. He had a story to tell about almost every piece of land in the area.
Leslie was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Where he was active in the church council, ushering, men's group, help to distribute x-mas meals for our community the past 8 years. He helped people move, made picnic tables and woodworking projects for fundraisers. Les worked at the race track, preparing track for the races so his sons could race safely. He loved traveling and going to LICA conventions. He was on the Board of Directors for Land Improvement Contractors and a member for 51 years and served as president and vice president and worked on many farm field day projects.
He enjoyed tinkering in the shop building, fabricating, and improving his equipment. Whether he was "fixing" perceived design flaws, creating whole new inventions if there was a problem, he could solve it in his shop. He also enjoyed doing woodworking projects for each grandchild and great-grandchild, something for them to remember him by. He loved his children and was proud of each one.
He planned to take his wife out to California to see where he was stationed in the Army and attend LICA Convention in Colorado. Also, he planned to go to Mackinac Island so they could complete their Honeymoon. He was a man of integrity.
Les is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons: Eugene (fiancAC.e' Barb), Kaukauna; Dan (Diane), Oshkosh; daughters: Karen Mueller (Grant Crowell), N.
