LeVern "Bud" Milo Knaack, 97, Town of Center, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. He was born November 6, 1923, to the late Louis and Frieda (Tiedt) Knaack. He was united in marriage to Bernice Kitzinger on June 4, 1945. Bernice preceded LeVern in death in May of 1989. He later married Dorothy Timm on April 13, 1991. LeVern was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Freedom for over 30 years.
LeVern farmed for many years, and while farming he also worked for Standard of Appleton (Appleton Sign) and Shopko. He loved taking care of his garden. LeVern also enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheepshead, and he liked bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Knaack; two sons: Gary Knaack and Brian Knaack; two daughters-in-law: Barbara Knaack, and Penny Bricco; four grandchildren: Kory (Pam) Knaack, and their children: Sydney and Sierra; Kris (Pattie) Knaack, Kraig Knaack, and his children: Lexie, Mattie, and Jaxon; and Heather (Justin) Held, and their daughter, Hadley; two step-children: Donna Murphy, and her son, Pat (Bonnie) Murphy; and their children: Alexandra and Andrew; and Sarah (Brad) Chandler, and their son, Edmund; and Steve (LuAnn) Timm, and their daughters: Erin (Ben) Murphy, and their children: Bryar and Cole; and Tracey (Tony) Nelson, and their children: Jackson and Myles; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
LeVern was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Knaack; one son, Ronald Knaack; one grandson, Kurt Knaack; three sisters: Arlene (Marlin) Timm, Ruby (John) Kuckenbecker, and Lucille Knaack; and one brother, Milton "Butch" (Gertrude) Knaack.
Visitation will take place at St. Peter Lutheran Church, N2740 French Rd. (just south of Cty E), Freedom, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church, Pastor Tim Glende and Pastor Jim Fleming officiating. Burial will take place in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Mackville.
